Fort Ticonderoga general admission tickets are valid Tuesday-Sunday May 3–October 26, 2025, from 9:30 am-5:00 pm, for two consecutive days! Access to Mount Defiance is included in admission. 

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Fort Ticonderoga and Mount Defiance are CLOSED on Mondays
  • The last entry for both Fort Ticonderoga and Mount Defiance is promptly 4:30 pm 
  • Be prepared to present your ticket upon arrival, we accept these methods:

Your Carillon ticket includes general admission as well as access to scenic Mount Defiance. A selection of regional beer, wine, soft drinks, and snacks are available for purchase on this special tour.

  • Outside alcohol is not permitted. 
  • Boarding the Carillon requires steps down to the boat dock and up into the boat.
  • There is a restroom onboard.
  • Make sure your date/time above is correct.

Bon Voyage Cruise

Join Fort Ticonderoga for its annual Bon Voyage Cruise on Lake Champlain! Savor the fall scenic beauty and enjoy captivating narration of historic highlights aboard the 60 ft Carillon tour boat during this three-hour cruise. Thrill as you ascend through Lock 12 into the Champlain Canal. Passengers receive one complimentary drink of beer, wine, cider, or soft drinks and assorted savory snacks.  A  bar stocked with wine, beer, and the Carillon’s signature cocktails are available on board. *Outside alcohol is not permitted*

The Bon Voyage Cruise includes ground transportation from Whitehall, New York back to Fort Ticonderoga. 

When you arrive at Fort Ticonderoga for the Bon Voyage cruise, you will approach through the Entrance gate and proceed to the King’s Garden parking area. There is a short walk to the dock where the Carillon will be awaiting your arrival, so please arrive around 11:00 a.m.

The boat will depart promptly at 11:30 a.m. from the Carillon boat dock located at Fort Ticonderoga.

This annual conference for educators takes place online this year and examines the role of the militia in Early America (from colonization through the Early Republic are). Content experts, museum staff, and classroom educators discuss the militia and model strategies for using documents with students.

2025 Winter Workshop Series

2025 War College Special Cruise

Join us for an exclusive experience aboard the Carillon as we cruise northward down Lake Champlain to the Crown Point peninsula and back. With an engaging onboard narrator, learn about key events and locations related to the Seven Years' War on Lake Champlain and in this historic stretch of the lake between Fort Carillon and the older Fort St. Frederic to the north. 

War College participants will return back to the dock at Fort Ticonderoga in time for the Friday afternoon reception. *The cruise will not be docking at Crown Point.

This experience is limited capacity, on a first-served basis. Snack and beverage bar onboard for credit card purchase. Guests are welcome to bring lunch/snacks, outside alcohol is prohibited. 

2025 History Happy Hour on Lake Champlain

Cap off your day with a relaxing narrated cruise, surrounded by scenic beauty and Ticonderoga's rich maritime history aboard the Carillon, Fort Ticonderoga's classic 1920s tour boat. From poignant to comical, discover the drama that surrounded Ticonderoga on the storied waters of Lake Champlain.

Enjoy the flavor of history with classic cocktails and an assortment of beer, wine, soft drinks, & snacks (available for credit card purchase). You may bring food on board, but outside alcohol is prohibited. 

Boarding begins at 5:15pm, the cruise embarks promptly at 5:30pm from the boat dock located at Fort Ticonderoga near the gardens. *If you are already on-site at Fort Ticonderoga, please make your way to the boat dock and wait to board. If not already on-site, wait at the entrance gate chain, staff will open the gate at 5pm.

2025 Ticonderoga Guns by Night

Experience the flash of musketry and the roar of cannon fire by night in this unique 90-minute tour and demonstration of 18th-century guns, big and small! Explore the workings of the firelocks and cannon that armed the many garrisons of Fort Ticonderoga that influenced and shaped the importance of this strategic citadel. Learn how these great guns were used to attack and defend the fort during the French & Indian War and made it such an important prize in the American Revolution. The tour concludes with dramatic nighttime demonstrations of weapons that you will not see anywhere else!

2025 Ticonderoga's Treasures of 1775

This unique experience highlights original museum artifacts from the beginning of the Revolutionary War. Learn more about the dramatic events and captivating personalities of 1775 through the documents and artifacts that were there. Ethan Allen, Benedict Arnold, and Henry Knox and their experience will come to life through this tour of Ticonderoga’s treasures led by Curator Dr. Matthew Keagle.

This specialty program is limited to 15 participants, ages 16+, and able to lift at least 20 pounds.

2025 Ramparts or Ruin? A Guided Tour of Fort Ticonderoga's Fortifications

In 1775, Fort Ticonderoga was only 20 years old and was already suffering from war and neglect. Join this after-hour guided tour to see what Fort Ticonderoga was really like as the Revolution began. Learn about the British plans to renovate Ticonderoga, and how its decay led to America's first victory, while exploring fortifications in depth. Explore areas off-limits to the public and learn about the preservation efforts on this storied fortress. 

This program begins promptly at 5pm, at the Log House Welcome Center at Fort Ticonderoga.

2025 Premium Pavilion Tour

Since its inception in 1996, Fort Ticonderoga’s War College of the Seven Years’ War has become a premier venue for historians interested in the global Seven Years’ War and the French & Indian War in North America. This year’s lineup of speakers includes both new and established scholars from across the United States and includes a speaker from Australia this year. War College registration includes free admission to Fort Ticonderoga Friday-Sunday of the weekend and provides networking opportunities with other scholars and lay historians.
